Naturguiden
  • How to get here

Our open sea kayaking tours are held in the St Anna and Gryt archipelago. Getting here by public transport is not easy and takes some time. We therefore organise pick-up in Norrköping, Linköping or elsewhere by agreement. Linköping Airport has direct flights to Amsterdam. There are good train connections to both Linköping and Norrköping, both from Stockholm and Copenhagen but also with night trains from Hamburg. We adapt the pick-up time to your arrival.

If you have your own car, you can of course meet us at our starting point.

  • Arrival and Departure

You choose your own time and place of arrival and departure.

  • Accommodation

The first night we stay at a campsite, hostel or a cabin. The following nights in a tent. Sleeping bag and mat are not included but can be ordered when booking. We recommend a sleeping bag with a comfort temperature of at least +5 degrees.

For private groups, we can organise indoor accommodation for all three nights. We are then less flexible in the choice of route, as we have to travel between the existing hostels.

  • Weather conditions

Expect temperatures between 10°C and 25°C. We may have both bright sunshine and rain. Wind speeds are usually low to moderate. Evenings can be a little chilly, so bring a warm jumper or jacket.

It is important to be able to protect yourself from both sunshine and rain. For sunny days, a hat that covers the ears and neck is good but not essential. Also bring a thin long-sleeved jumper or shirt to protect your arms. You will also need a rain jacket.

  • Equipment

    We provide:

    • Fully equipped high quality kayaks.
    • Waterproof bags for your equipment
    • A tent for one or two people
    • All equipment for cooking and eating
    • All food for the whole trip
    • Water bottle
    • Maps for those who wish

    Not included:

    • Sleeping bag (can be rented)
    • Sleeping mat (can be rented)
    • Snacks
    • Alcoholic beverages

    What to bring:

Clothes for outdoor activities, avoid cotton if possible.

    • Long trousers and shorts
    • Warm jumper
    • Windproof jacket
    • Rain jacket and preferably also rain trousers
    • Thin long-sleeved jumper or shirt for sunny days
    • Preferably a hat that covers the ears and neck.
    • Swimwear
    • Towel
    • Sunglasses

  • Group size

We like to guide small groups of maximim 8 guest and one guide. This way we can fit in one minivan. Also for safety reasons and group dynamics it´s nice to keep the group size down.

If you are a private group, you can be more than eight people. You will then have two guides leading the group.

  • Included in the price

Almost everything you need is included in the price. Accommodation first night and two nights in tent. Local transports. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Equipment: Fully equipped kayak, life jacket, dry bags, one or two persons tent, all needed for eating.

Itinerary & program

Our normal tours starts at Mon or Kustcamp Ekön. From here we reach the outer islands if the weather permits, or the sheltered bays further into the archipelago. A lovely mix of wild nature areas and a few inhabited islands with tourist services is what awaits you.

First day

Your guide will pick you up at the airport, railway station or other location by arrangement. From there we drive to the Baltic Sea where we spend the first night in a hostel or cabin. Hotel is also possible.

You get your kayak and we do a small tour to get used to it. If you have not kayaked before, we will give you a basic course. In the evening we have dinner together, plan the next day and prepare the equipment we will take with us. Belongings not needed during the trip can be left behind.

Intermediate days

In the morning when the sun is warm, we sit on the rocks with our feet in the water and eat our breakfast. Once everything is back in the kayak, we head out on the Baltic Sea, leaving no trace of where we spent the night.
We enjoy the day, adapting our speed to the wind and the group. Stop to watch the birdlife or paddle straight to a distant island. You'll learn about paddling techniques and safety, reading coastal maps and the birds and animals of the archipelago. We may stop to visit historical and cultural sites. During the day we will have several breaks to eat and relax. In the evening we camp on another island or reach the accommodation for the night.

Last day

We spend most of the day in the archipelago and return to our starting point in the afternoon. We are flexible here, if you have a flight or train to catch, we will adjust the arrival time so that we can safely make it. If you want to stay longer, we will help you with that.
